Truro Twine Field Conservation Campaign

The Twine Fields, or the Rogers' property, is a 10.2 acre of rare large upland meadow and pine forest, once used by local fishermen to repair and tar their nets. The property was under agreement with a developer, who had plans to subdivide it into nine lots.  A group of concerned neighbors and abutters, who recognized the environmental and historical importance of preserving this land, worked together with the current owner and developer, and raised enough money to put the property in conservation with Truro Conservation Trust.

This site is the only remaining meadow of this size in Provincetown, Truro or Wellfleet.  It will continue to be a vital habitat for Cape Cod wildlife if placed into conservation.
